Vex Omni Drive

Hey guys,
I built a VEX Omni Drive! Here's a picture of the drivetrain. I will post a video of the robot doing all movement functions, external and internal possibly on Tuesday! Note, I have to tie back the motor-wheel mounts because they end up bending because of the ginormous stress being placed on them! This is one of my test drivetrains for my Vex robot, and possibly our FIRST robot! It has so much traction that it attempts climbing a wall, until it flips over!

Sorry, I forgot to attach the link :(
Here's the link!

Just noting that there is a forum here on Chief Delphi for VEX. Also you didn't attach the picture.

Yes. I know that this isn't a FIRST robot. The purpose of this robot is to test different drive systems in micro scale to give an idea to people how it works! Also, I did put the link above. If that weren't the purpose of this, I would not be posting this here and instead in the VEX forum!;)

I would brace the front of the robot. Right now it looks really flexible(which usually isn't good in a drivetrain).

Yeah! That would be a great idea! So far, I think that I have persuaded our team captain to try this in robotics! :D

Re: Vex Omni Drive

I have built version 2 finally. It is much more compact and looks prettier! It's name is "Brains" because the robot is nearly the size of the cortex, which sits on top and make it look like it has a big brain! No more standoffs make this robot drivetrain quite low to the ground! I'll post a pic tomorrow!
