The bigger question for me is why are they selling a pinion that is impossible to drive(it's not hex or key broached)

This might be a reference to a Louis CK comedy bit. I can't seem to find the video at the moment (but if you do go looking, keep in mind that it contains some very strong language.). But he says that phrase while explaining that "nothing kids say really matters".
