Tool training

In the last two years we have really increased our tool selection, as a result, we are looking to implement tool training for some of the tools, namely the milling machine and lathe.

Can anyone share their tool training documents so that we can pull one together before the start of the season.

Thank you
Kelly

Give them small tasks that use only a few basic features and continue to give them tasks that get harder and harder and involve more and more knowledge of the machine. Through out this process teach what is needed for each task

We are trying to formalize our training this year, but creating standardizes job aids, quizzes and SOS sheets for all our equipment. I am posting a link to one for our drill press.

These are all student generated and our second version and still a work in progress.

In the 2011 season 781 mentor Lyle Semple delivered tool training sessions that were recorded and put on youtube. The videos can be found here: http://team781.com/frc/frcresources/safety.
