Whats Shasta look like?

I don't think I have ever heard of or seen. Does someone have a pic of it?

Anthony S. 12-06-2001 00:00

You got served Faygo in lunch????? Man are you guys lucky. All we had was milk and off brand cartons of some fruit stuff which was nasty. I don't think all Faygo's are diet. Faygo's are delicious, I like them. They are some of the only soft drinks they make in glass bottles. Thats strange. I see Shasta all over the place, I see shasta more than I see Faygo.

Website

I answered my own question. I look them up and they make more than Shasta and Faygo. Now we're going to have to look out for more products. Here is the main site for National Beverage Corp.

Beverage Company

In Virginia we occasionally have Shasta. I've never tried it so I don't know anything about it. The on;y reference I've ever heard to Faygo is from ICP (Insane Clown Possie). Has anyone ever tried either. Shasta is so rare here so I haven't tried it yet. If either are any good and the FIRST emblem shows up on them I'll start buyin' them when I see them.
C~ya,
Carolyn who likes to try off brand stuff occasionlly for giggles and grins (it's like shopping at the thrift store). ;)

Faygo and Shasta are similar

Faygo may have more "exotic" flavors. BUT, Faygo is known around here as the major "off brand". They make all of the standard flavors, like cola, root beer, mountain dew knock off, etc. THEY ARE NOT ALL DIET. In fact, in typical stores around here (Detroit, the home of Faygo), you can find about 3 times the flavors in regular than you can in diet.

I believe we only get Diet Faygo here. Which I guess is somewhat odd. I've had some of the diet sodas and they are fairly good but they're diet so.... ;)

Anyway, National Beverage Corporation isn't all good. They call everything pop so how could they be! ;)

Faygo Rocks (and Ryes)

Nothing beats Faygo's Rock and Rye flavor. And I was sure that Faygo's Redpop was famous around the world.

Shasta Rocks!

Shasta is present in Arkanasas. I remember drinking the Cream Soda when I was younger. It's really inexpensive in the store, like 30 cents a can. And the only way that I know that you can buy it is by single cans. That way you get to mix-n-match what flavors you want.

We get Shasta in multipacks I believe. However, Faygo only comes singly here.

Cool, I'm drinking Faygo during FIRST season next year.

Since National Beverage Company is a sponcer of FIRST, I think that will be the primary drink I drink during the FIRST season. There inexpensive too, thats the cool thing.:)

Speaking of Diet Faygo ...

... Kevin (kevin_308 who posted above) and I went out to lunch today for carry-out Thai food and I went to a party store next door to try and get some Diet Rock and Rye (as Kevin said, Rock and Rye is awesome -- I only drink diet these days since regular tastes funny in the same way the diet tastes funny to regular drinkers). To my dismay, they had about 10 Faygo flavors and not a single one of them were diet! Boy, was I disappointed.

By the way Matt, Kevin is standing here and says, "you drink 'pop' and you bake with 'soda' ".

mike o'leary 12-06-2001 15:57

i dont think we have either here in ma...i could be wrong but i doubt it: i generally buy off brand soda (star cola at $0.89/3 liter bottle especially...) cuz they fit my budget

Let's get this straight...

1. I do believe that Shasta and Faygo are regionalized somewhat. I know that in North Central Arkansas, where I am orginally from, they only had Shasta, but then we got a Fred's discount store. Fred's sells Faygo. I also know that Faygo is popular in Memphis and Little Rock.

2. As far as the best and cheapest carbonated beverage, you can't go wrong with Sam's Choice from Wal-Mart. Seriously, it's good.

3. Carbonated beverages are neither pop, nor soda, where I'm from. It's coke in a general sense. For example:
"Hey, do you want a Coke?!"
"Sure. What kind do you have?"
"We have Mtn. Dew, Dr. Pepper and Coke."
"I'll take a Mtn. Dew."

Just thought I'd fill you guys in...

See Becky, I've always told you that Arkansas people are different, now I've got my proof.

Mike, who enjoys a big cup of ice water :)

Becky Allen 12-06-2001 17:01

I never said that we weren't different. But remember different doesn't equal bad. Mike secretely wishes that he was from Arkansas. Trust me on this one.

P.S.
I also prefer water. One glass of Coke can keep me up all night. That should tell you something about how often I drink caffeine. Mike, the water at your house is the BEST!
