3DS Max + Additional Programs

Besides 3D Studio Max, what other software (made by Autodesk?) can we use with our animation. Obviously, I'm sure that using programs like Paint Shop Pro 6 and Adobe won't be a problem. But what is Autodesk's tolerance for Poser and Meshmaker? Is this considered making everything "yourself"?

i really have no idea if the rules have changed since last year, but i thought i'd mention this anyway..

last year, and (to my knowledge) all previous years, the rules stipulated that each team had to use A piece of autodesk software. didn't matter which one, just as long as you used one. however, last year they stopped requiring a source CD of each team's animation files, so there really was no way they could check that rule.

well, if you look at it another way, do you really think they'll know if you used poser or meshmaker to model out certain things in your animation. My suggestion is just use 3DSMax for animating your product and use any other software packages out there that will allow your animation to look superb! (yes, it's okay to do so).

moreover, you'll need to use some other software later on to import your animation into a vhs tape.... (adobe premiere for example) and using those packages you can also use the filters (fade in fade out) to make ur animation pretty.

good luck.
