Posts almost never show up on the "FRC Blog" list right when they're posted. It usually takes some time. And the link to the URL wasn't posted publicly until whenever the GDC posted it.

ZIP codes were intoduced by the postal service in 1963.

Did any big events happen in these city's?

As a CSA and FTAA who signed no NDA's, I can say that I have heard nothing about lifting bandwidth limits, only modifying some.

61126 and 62326 are zip codes, 1963 is when zip codes were started, which is fifty years ago. FIRST likes anniversaries.

I wish I were on the GDC, just to watch everyone struggle to grasp the meaning of this.

1963 is when Doctor Who started.

I already tried last year's strategy on the strings, using pi and phi, no dice.

As for events that happened in Rockford, Illinois in 1963 I found this listing online:

http://www.rockfordillinois.com/chron7.htm

It doesn't look like too much went on. As others have noted, zip codes started in 1963 and their 50 year anniversary is 2013. Not 2014, though; this makes me think that the zip code idea is a diversion.

Colchester is also a city in England, and there were a couple episodes of Dr. Who set there.

Has anyone tried looking for the nth word in the dictionary, where n is the number from the hint?

The first evidence of Japanese writing came from 57 AD. Maybe some type of mail game?
