Re: Autodesk Vault 2014
Just an update: we got our rack servers and are working to transfer the Vault to the server but want to know the best way of doing it. Are any of you familiar with this process?

Re: Autodesk Vault 2014
Here is a link to the Wiki help page.
http://help.autodesk.com/view/VAULT/...E-EA142103EB03 I will check for more detailed results on your request, but it looks like a search for "transfer vault" should get you what you want. |
Re: Autodesk Vault 2014
Using the link above, search for Vault Data Transfer Utility

I agree with Sanddrag, it looks like a project file issue.
In addition to the previous suggestion make sure the project file type is set to Vault. The attached image shows a Single User project file. If your project file looks like this then you need to create a new project file using the New Vault Project option. |
Re: Autodesk Vault 2014
Hello,
Im not sure if i have Vault. Is it called Autodesk Basic Vault 2014? Also, what log-in do you use? The one that you use to download CAD? Or do you use the Autodesk Cloud account? Sorry for all the questions, im a very curious student.::rtm::  Thanks, Morgan1825 Oh, and I could use some help on how to use it. I ave no clue how it works. Thanks. |
Re: Autodesk Vault 2014
What you have would be the vault client. To use vault, you need to set up a computer with the Vault server, which is a separate download and install. It is possible to have the client and server on one computer, for a single user, but a more typical implementation would be to use a dedicated computer for the server. You can have up to 10 users on Windows 7 and more than that on Windows Server. I use Windows Server 2008 R2 Enterprise on an older Dell Poweredge 1850 with 10k RPM SCSI drives and 8 give of RAM.

Re: Autodesk Vault 2014
Thanks for your help Sanddrag and Phil! I had to create a new Vault project file in a separate location - I had some errors trying to create a new one because there were other project files and content center files within the same folder path. I'm up and running now!
