FRC190's Robot in 30 Minutes

Think outside the box!

Never give up! We put several iterations into this system before we could get it to work as shown.

Good luck to all the other RI30M teams!

Correct me if I am wrong, but to me that does not quite look like it will fit within the rules regarding appendages extending above the 60 inch limit.

This is 190's (infamous) 2008 robot. :)

Nailed it.

I see no rules broken here.

Man we are really behind! Looks sweet your 2008/2011 robots were very cool!

I find it funny, I guess that video format is a WPI thing! One of our students used the same template after Battlecry this year. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jibVkEqZ_B8

How the heck did you re-string that elevator in less than 30 minutes?

...I loved this robot.

It was one of those game-breaking robots that the GDC changed the rules for. Crappy for 190, but it was a great risky idea.

190 has a few rules attributed to their outside-the-box ways.

What? The suction cup still works? How many iterations does that make?

I believe you can only go above 60 inches when in YOUR GOALIE ZONE. Your scoring goals are behind the other teams goalie zone. So...

This isn't a serious robot, it's just some guys taking an old robot and having some fun with the new game.

I figured. I was just making sure they knew.

Did I see some shoe wheels on there, or was that a lens flare?

Yea but it is only supposed to. Be 6in in diameter, and it's the 2008 robot

Change the rules? No. 190 built an edge case that was designed to break the game, and the GDC simply clarified that they would indeed recieve a <G22> penalty each rotation of the arm. Though, at their first event, it wasn't called that way and their robot still wasn't overly competitive compared to more "traditional" designs.
