FRC Radio Signal Light

Is the radio signal light supposed to be connected to the sidecar or the main board? And if it's to the sidecar, what part do we need to connect it?

If by main board you mean the PDB, then no, it connects to the sidecar. At the bottom of the sidecar, there's a little 2 pin connection with a light beside it that says RSL. The connector looks close to the same as a female PWM, except there's only 2 holes instead of 3.

Check out page 10 of this document, and this schematic for more information.

As in a picture of a digital sidecar, a picture of the RSL, a picture of the connector, or all three of these things in a system? Literally, the first link that Gregor provided shows all three of those.

You are technically correct (the best kind of correct :D), but I wonder if the misuse of the name caused any ambiguity or confusion.

Inspector tip: Don't forget to include the wire jumper on the robot signal light as described in rule R63.

Are we discussing this?

Also, this is what the flashing light means:

Solid ON - Autonomous enabled
Solid ON but blinks off every 1.5 sec - Teleop enabled
Slow blink (900ms ON / 900ms OFF) - System disabled by system watchdog, user watchdog, or driver station set to disabled
Fast-slow (200ms ON / 900ms OFF) - Low battery (<12V) or no user code AND system disabled either by system watchdog, user watchdog, or Driver Station set to disabled.
Fast (200ms ON / 200ms OFF) - System error; no Driver station communication; bad cRIO image, bad team ID, extensive communication errors

Re: FRC Radio Signal Light

Our signal light works great, but there is a loose screw inside that rattles around, It doesn't seem to affect it poorly, but it is annoying. Any thoughts?

It connects to the sidecar.

Re: FRC Radio Signal Light

Tim,
You can pop open the RSL to look for the loose part. It is likely plastic as I don't remember any screws. If it is metal, sooner or later it will end up where you don't want it. There will be a flash of light and puff of smoke and a hole in the air where something used to be.
