A few "issues" with LabVIEW..
 

So, as I attempt to connect to the cRIO via Ethernet IPv4 set at 10.37.63.6 I find myself having to re-enter the IP after resetting the cRIO. What's causing this and how do I fix it?

Run the Imaging tool and check the "pin" settings on the cRIO. Make sure the pin for IP Reset is not set to on.

Our next meeting is Friday so I will do it then. That being said, we're using the Mini cRIO, so with a lack of switches, through the Imaging Tool, with the IP Reset [OFF] would that be a surefire way to fix it? Through IP Properties - IPv4 Properties it seems any time I disconnect the Ethernet Connection from the cRIO, 10.37.63.6 clears and it goes back to [Obtain IP Address Automatically].

Maybe I misinterpreted the issue you are having. Is the IP address on the computer or the cRIO getting reset when you restart the cRIO?

The IP on the computer that must be set through Properties is automatically clearing itself whenever the cRIO gets disconnected - reset, unplug, power down, etc.

This being my fourth year programming, I don't recall having this issue before - but that was with a Windows 7 OS if that has anything to do with it.

Ahh, OK. Then setting the IP Reset switch to off shouldn't be the issue, it should be defaulted to off so I'm assuming its off on yours currently.

More than likely, it is. To add a bit of input, I hadn't checked the IP after I performed the initial Flash for the 2014 Game via 2014 Imaging tool. That Could be the issue and the IP address is now permanent, but I can't be 100% sure.

Does the laptop's IP go back to DHCP when you start or exit any particular program, like the cRIO Imaging Tool or the Driver Station? Both those have the ability to change the laptop IP under certain conditions.
Some of the tools will reset the laptop IP to what it was before the program was started.

Can you describe the problem again with more details? It isn't clear what form of connection or where you are entering the IP address. Have you launched the DS, and what does its Diagnostics tab show?

Wiring directly from my Laptop into the cRIO via Ethernet, I find myself having to re-enter the IP address "10.xx.yy.6" under the IPv4 Properties after every disconnect (No matter form - be it power down, unplugging the Ethernet cord, or resetting the cRIO through the imaging tool). The problem is the IP address 10.xx.yy.6 is not permanently staying set under the IPv4 Properties.

Note that while still plugged into the cRIO and after having re-entered the IP Address, I have full communications to the cRIO and full connection between DS and cRIO.

Ah. So it is the laptop IP that is changing, not the cRIO.

The driver station has code that can manage a NIC. If you go to setup tab and click Choose NIC, it will allow you to pick a NIC and the DS will set its IP on each launch.

I mention this because it is possible that the DS is the culprit, or it could help solve the issue.

What IP is it when it is incorrect? Is is DHCP or manual with a different IP?

When I go back into the IPv4 Properties, the box for Use This IP Address is selected and it is blank across all four entries. So manual with a blank address, I believe.

I've never seen that before. You may want to back up a few levels in Control Panel, disable/enable, or see about a repair for that NIC. You can also run a command line such as

netsh interface ip show config

Maybe post the results and that will help identify what is up with that interface.

Alright Friday I'll do that. It's just an issue with the IP address not permanently staying set under IPv4.

I suspect that your computer may have additional networking management software installed, for example, Lenovo ThinkVantage, which is changing the IP address.
