We're run into this issue before. Attached is a series of batch files to switch back and forth between connecting to the robot and to the public network. We placed the folder in the "My Documents" and created a new toolbar pointing to it. You will need to modify them to your own IP values.

Unsure why, but the IP is permanently set now.

As stated I never reimaged the cRIO, just connected to it. Once reimaged I can assume that the IP address was set permanently. Unsure, still! But at least we're back on track!
