Re: 2014 706 teaser
That is a very nice intake/passing mechanism. I can see that welded tripod attached to the back, but I'm still wondering what purpose it serves. I look at that photo and see that the ball can't reach that little frame piece, unless it can grip the ball and flip it over.
Video please? |

Re: 2014 706 teaser
It seems a lot of people are going for either El Torro or the roller intake.:D

Re: 2014 706 teaser
That pickup is exactly like something we tossed around early on. We were able to greatly simplify the roller positioning though in subsequent iterations.

Re: 2014 706 teaser
The front bracket that hold the front roller is fully adjustable so we can determine the best angle for collection. We are using 4 rollers on 2 shafts so we can reach as far as possible and still keep rollers in contact with the ball all the way back to the .... ah scoring mechanism.

Re: 2014 706 teaser
I suspect that the tripod-shaped element behind the collector will contain a puncher-type shooting mechanism.
What I find difficult to understand is how this entire structure will be contained within the perimeter of the robot at game start? I suppose the structure could be oriented with the collector being raised and tilted 90 degrees to point straight up. |
