Smart DashBoard 2.0 - Playback functionality

Does anyone know if the new playback functionality in Smart DashBoard 2.0 requires you to use Command Based Programming?

It shouldn't. The record and playback is present in the default, LV, and SD. It records the video stream, the deltas to the Network table, and other protocol data such as the DS I/O and possibly Kinect.

Command-based programming is merely a pattern for how to use those resources and shouldn't be required.
