Question about bumpers and driver station

Right now our team is working on bumpers and we just want to clarify some things.
  1. Does the fabric have to be one continues strip ?
  2. Does the fabric have to have the same shade of red or blue?
  1. Also what are the restrictions for the driver station?
  2. Can we put LED lights or any other lights on it?

Thanks ::safety:: :deadhorse: (Sorry just wanted to see what it looks like)...

For lights on the driver station, I would reccomend against it. It slightly impairs your view of the field, and is kind of distracting.

For your bumper questions:

There are no rules that mandate a single piece of fabric.

I would highly recommend AGAINST using various shades of red or blue fabric on your bumpers. The rules suggest using colors of red and blue that match the FIRST logo and using various shades might give the impression you were attempting to make your bumpers "decorative".

The reason we want to use led lights is because we are using super shifters and we want something to tell us if it is in high gear or low gear.

If you ask reeeeealy nicely your programming team should be able to incorporate some kind of indicator in your drivers' station. If you don't want to have to look at the drivers' station to know (and assuming you don't want to just see how fast the robot is moving by driving it) you could always put LEDs on the actual robot. ... just a few alternate suggestions
