Merging two objects into one?

I am messing around with some vision code, and came across a conundrum. When attempting to track bumpers, the bumper gets separated by the team number. For Vision, it causes it to track the bumper as two objects. Is there a way to force a merge that would fill the area between as part of the object, or is it going to be easier to figure out how to average out the two "objects"?

Truly a conundrum. Attach an image, possibly a script so that we can help find a solution.
