Re: 2014 Arizona Regional

I just wanted to extend the invitation here for teams to join us for The Chairman's Exchange (www.fusd1robotics.org/chex) on Thursday (tomorrow) during lunch.

It will be another great opportunity for teams to practice their presentations and collaborate before the official presentations on Friday.

Let me know if your team is interested by PMing me or just visiting us in the pits tomorrow morning!

2486 can't wait for another awesome Arizona Regional!! :D

Uploaded 3 parts of the archived webcast here if anyone needs it tonight:
http://goo.gl/u57B1v
Covers matches 13-59
They are fairly large files, so we will upload more polished video clips after the regional.

Here is the YouTube channel of today's archived matches. We were able to upload very fast today and so were uploading as each match goes by. Will get it on the blue alliance sometime after the regional. Next year were definitely going to try and get the fish eyed view though.

I will share my videos after they upload (768kbps isn't the fastest!)
However, they are only of our our team competing (and one of the Bit Buckets)

Congrats to all the team at the AZ regional! Our thread is kind of small here guys! Lets pump it up! I want to send special thanks for the Coconuts, 2486 for picking up for their final alliance and Plasma Robotics, 2403 for joining our alliance to win the AZ Regional!

Thank you to all the volunteers, mentors, coaches, teachers and judges! See you all next year!

I have also never seen a winning alliance dominate the top awards as well.
FRC 2486 - Regional Chairman's Award,
FRC- 2403 - Engineering Inspiration
FRC 842 - HoF already, and last year's Woodie Flowers winner.

This was something special. :)

Also big congrats to team 3785 the Gila Monsters, 1726 The NERDS, and team 60, The bionic bulldogs. You guys played very well to make it to the finals and we were so close to completing Steve Sanghi's challenge for 200 points on both alliances . This was definitely a very fun and surprising regional. I know myself and many others don't consider Arizona to be a particularly strong regional compared to others but that was definitely not the case this year and probably not any longer from here on out. There were plenty of crazy high match scores all across the board along with 4 robots that attempted multi ball autonomous modes, 3 of which completed it. And to our partners the Coconuts and Team Plasma, you guys were great! Coconuts almost never missed a high goal shot and Plasma was the best passer we could have hoped to get. See you guys at championships!

Here are the final matches recorded in 1080p btw:

Congratulations to teams 842 Falcon Robotics, 2486 the Coconuts, and 2403 Team Plasma for winning the Arizona Regional. Represent AZ well in the Championships!

Special thanks to teams 812 The Midnight Mechanics and 2840 Blue Tide for welcoming us with gracious professionalism as a backup robot in the semifinals. It was a honor to play with you guys.

To all teams: Everyone played great matches. We proved that Arizona teams are the ones to watch out for.

Our team will be back next year better than ever. We hope to see all teams back next year with just as good and even better robots. See you next year.

Peace Love and Robots,
Team #4111

In a perverse sort of way I feel honored to see us get thoroughly beat up by you guys. Wait till next year.

Special tip of the hat to the Bulldogs and the Monsters. Hope to team up with you again to continue to shake the AZ regional(s) up.

What a fun regional! For those who don't know, we had a Forbes family reunion. I have been mentoring the NERDS since 2006. My son Steven was on the NERDS that year, mentored themthe next four years, and since 2011 has been mentoring 842 Falcons. My brother David and my sons Gary and Kevin helped start 4183 Bit Buckets, and have been mentoring them since.

We got to play against the Bit Buckets in the quarter finals, it took three matches but we pulled off a win. After winning the semis, we fought hard but could not take the incredible alliance of 2486, 842 and 2403. Congratulations to the Regional Winners, you were fantastic! And make that a double, counting the Chairman's Award for 2486, and Engineering Inspiration for 2403. You make me proud to be a part of FIRST in AZ.

A very big THANK YOU to the Bulldogs, team 60, for picking us to play with you! and the Gila Monsters, 3785 for joining our great alliance! This regional was the first time I was "behind the glass" and you made eliminations a fun, exciting experience.

Also a huge thanks to all the volunteers that made the regional happen. I was very impressed with how smoothly everything ran. Great job!

I think the only question will be if they are the same week or not.... (hopefully not)

Re: 2014 Arizona Regional

Not likely, as it would require too many volunteers.
