Ugh...PWM pin vs. Speed Controller

Coach on team #481, NASA Ames / De Anza High School, from De Anza High School and It could be you!.

Man oh man. We have snapped off a PWM pin inside a speed controller. Any hope of getting it out? Any ideas about preventing this in the future?

Thanks,

Eric Reed

If there is nothing sticking up above the level of the plastic, you are in tough shape.

What I have done in the past is to very carefully trim away enough of the plastic around the pin to get enough access to pull out the stub with some VERY sharp tweezers.

Or you could send the VICTOR back to Innovation FIRST to have them replace the connector.

In the future, loop the wire back around to the chassis, and attach it to a cable tie anchor, so that if the lead gets yanked, the force is taken up by the cable, not the connector.

For prototypes, I duct tape the cable down to the deck next to the VICTOR...usually after I damage the first one for the year.
