alternate source for lead screws

Student on team #70, Auto City Bandits, from Powers Catholic High School and Kettering University.

Does anyone know of any other (preferably local, Michigan) sources for lead screws? I realize that the ones on the robot must be from Small Parts, but they wont have any here for close to 10 more days and we would like to test the system before then. We are looking for the same ones that were included in the kit last year. I don't know the part # off hand, sorry. We appreciate any help.

Thanks,

Bill

If SPI will not get you the part for 10 days, I think that FIRST may cut you some slack. Call Eric (ext. 109).

Second, Nick237 is the keeper of a great load of stuff from last year's kit. Perhap he will come up with something for you?

If I remember correctly, the lead screws in last years kit were 1/2" with a 0.250" lead. SPI carries 1/2" with 0.500" and 1.000" leads. This means the pitch angle of the SPI screws is greater, making them more prone to back-driving. Just be careful if this is why you are opting to use lead screws. (FYI)

After stalking Nick across Watertown (from my musical rehearsal at the HS to our shop at Porter St, only to find out he went back to the HS) ;).....

He says we have them and we don't need them. He'll overnite it; just send us the address.

I'm pretty sure that ours are going unused also.

Bill, if you still need some, let me know.
