Masked Vision Display on DriverStation

Hi folks,

I've followed the tutorial for adding image processing to the Dashboard and that work mostly well. In years past, I've add a Tabbed display to have the ability to show both the native camera image as well as the post processed image, each in their own tab.

However this year, I find I am unable to add the MASKED output to my Dashboard. In the example, the MASKED output is a IMAQ Image.ctl typedef, and I can't seem to find a way to create the same type of indicator that I can add to my Tabbed display in my project. Normally, I'd right click on a terminal or wire and select create indicator, but that doesn't work.

I can simply copy the "MASKED" indicator/typedef from the example project into my new dashboard project, but, then I run into all kinds of cosmetic issues, when trying to resize it to fit in the tab, etc...

Any help and insights here would be greatly appreciated as I'm stumped.

Thanks,
Michael

Does duplicating the existing Camera Image indicator give you what you want?

No Alan it doesn't. I tried that. Thanks.

Then I don't understand what you're trying to do. It sounded like you wanted another image display window like the live camera view but connected to the processed image, and for that I would expect simply duplicating the indicator would work fine.

If that's not what you are going for, I'd appreciate a more detailed explanation.

When you tried making another copy of the Camera Image indicator, what didn't work as you wanted?

There are two IMAQ controls in LV. One is simply a refnum, a small rectangle that conveys the value, but doesn't attempt to draw the image. This is what many of the IMAQ subVIs use. If you right-click and create an indicator, this is likely what you create.

The second type is the large graph-like display that draws the image that the refnum points to. You should be able to copy and paste one that is on the dashboard, on an example, or even last year's program. Sometimes these have been customized to have invisible or hidden parts. Some of them have been rearranged. You may find it less confusing to use the bottom menu section in the palette for the front panel.
