Yeah we love the stuff put it under electronic components so they don't slip so many usages for it. We had one layer wrapped around over lapping just the ends due to the way we wrapped it and it was enough, if once doesn't work for this particle mechanism going two three times should surly do the trick.

The material around tennis rackets is really nice and cheap too!

Our team covered PVC pipe with hockey tape, and then wrapped surgical tubing (thicker than the KOP surgical tubing) around it like a spiral, and it picks the ball up very well.

Can you please post a picture? We have been having trouble picking up our ball and we are using just hockey tape.

We have found it necessary to wrap the surgical tubing in that direction.

Agreed that hockey tape alone does not have a particularly good grip on the game piece this year. We attempted that with one of our prototype rollers, and did not like the results. We did have good results with surgical tubing (.375 OD, like the KoP). Our best results were with low durometer rubber wheels.

El Toro Material

Hi. I was wondering what material was used to grip the ball for El Toro on Boom Done's robot this year.

How far apart are your motors? How high up are they? What angle do you have them out at when you pick up balls? What do you have providing force between the two bars?

Sorry, I have a lot of questions, but our team is struggling with ours

How did you mount your banebot wheels to the el toro sticks? Banebot wheels are typically center keyed or hex keyed in the middle.

Regards,

Regards,

Yes the bane bot wheels where hex keyed and we discovered that 1/2in aluminum rod fits perfectly with just a little tap of a hammer they fit. They were very snug we couldn't move them unless we take a hammer to it. initially before we found that the 1/2 fit we were going to bore the wheel out to a certain size then press the stick through it but this was much simpler.
this aluminum rod we then attached to a pg71 gear motor using a machined adapter. I can possible post a picture soon
