How high up are they?

The top of the Versaplanetary Gearbox (I assume this is what you are looking for) is 10 in off the ground.

Just for additional information, the top of the appendage when deployed is ~22 in off the floor.

What angle do you have them out at when you pick up balls?

46 degree angle, measured today.

What do you have providing force between the two bars?

We have surgical tubing tied between two eyelet bolts attached to the motors.

Sorry I wasn't able to reply as quickly, we do not have meetings on Tuesdays. I can get measurements on how far apart the motors are Friday or earlier.

Thank you very much! As I said earlier, I only ask because we are having trouble with ours. I suspect our problem is due to a lack of tension between the two poles. Can your el torro pick up balls without any robot movement?

Try bicycle grips used for mountain bikes. Another good product is water proof electrical tape.

We tried several things and found that the black foam insulation for copper piping makes an excellent covering. Its round sticky and rugged not to mention it can be purchased at any walmart or home improvement store.

We can pick up the ball as we are driving up to it. Just sitting there without any movement on the base does not pick it up.

Is anyone able to pick up the ball without moving the base?
