FESTO solenoid connectors

My team didn't get the connectors that connect the 1/8" tubing to the approx 5mm opening on our FESTO double acting solenoid valve. Does anyone know what it's called and it's dimensions? Also where would it be available?

While I'm at it, do we need a SPIKE(motor controller?) to control the solenoids?

One more question, do we need to have one solenoid breakout on the CRIO per solenoid valve?

Re: FESTO solenoid connectors

If they are 12 volt solenoids then you could use a spike, but I am guessing that you have 24 volt ones. If they are 24 volt then you can use the solenoid breakout to control multiple solenoids.

They're 24 volts. Thanks!

That's probably it. It's out of stock on AndyMarks. Would this be available in say a hardware store?

I dont think they would sell them at a hardware store, but here is another place that sells them http://www.alliedelec.com/search/pro...x?SKU=70070890, but check to make sure that it is correct for your needs. If you want to find somewhere else that sells them try searching for "m5 pneumatic 1/4 fitting" or something similar.

Take a look at the number on your valve. If the part number has an M7 in it, then you want the M7 fittings from AndyMark. The ones from FIRST Choice have M7 ports; at least, the ones we got are M7.

First Choice had both M7 and M5 versions. The ones my team got were the 24V M5's.

You can order the parts from any Festo distributor. You can find distributors from the Festo website. I found one local to us in eastern MA. Even if the distributor is not local, Festo can sip direct to you. I believe there is a $25 handling fee for this (on top of the shipping charge).
