One that grips the ball the best.

We've found that simple Craftsman Rubber toolbox shelf-liner works quite well.

Silicone works well. If you are coating a surface you can also make ridges and such to add even more "grip"

We're using andymark white hi-grip wheels on a roller. Grip pretty good.

Try out whatever rubber wheels you might have (kit wheels, VEX Pro wheels, BaneBots wheels, etc.), one of those should have a good grip. Just grab a bunch and rub them on the ball, see what sticks best.

It depends on what the substrate is. If you are using wheels, you could go with the green banebot wheels or the high traction tread on almost any wheel. However, if you are simply wrapping a tube you could do it with tennis racket hand grip tape from a sports store. We used that in Breakaway and it worked very well.

Banebots green wheels. Cheap, lightweight, comes with a hex bore, and matches purple powder coat nicely too.
