well yea but i mean it needs a name. It's standard procedure to name your bot =p kind of looks like predator to me from Aliens vs predator. and if it works as expected it very well might be the predator out on the field =p right now it's just an empty shell waiting for code.

So would you mind explaining how it works? I see the kicker but can't figure out any intake, is there one?

Their are two intakes, one one either side of the robot. What scares me is that with those motorized noodles so far out of the frame, taller robots could run into them and get stuck.

Oh, I just got a name for it! It can pick up the ball from the left or right side, so call it "Ambi-Dexter." :D

The two sides are the picker uppers. The noodles push the ball against our robot and keep it from leaving when the two fingers go over the ball and under it to pick it up.

All those arms are disposable. Yes they might get stuck but we won't hesitate to rip them off. Replacing any of that takes seconds and we have two sides so some redundancy. We went for a design we knew would break so we made it easy to fix.

That is cool!
Does it have two launchers also? Looks like a catapult AND a kicker.

no just the one kicker but it works amazingly well though. we can hit it(without any adjustments on anything the same position holder and power on kicker) from 5 feet away to just under the truss so there is a large margin of error of making a shot, should be very easy to score with

this is last years practice bot and will run around just like this but better since we're using PID speed feedback system this year, last year we just vectored the force on each motor(calibrated to pwm values) it'll prob be a few days before we get this one fully functional

Sure looks like a "Ball Huger" or "Bear huger" to me :)
