Netbeans freezes with Windows 8.1
 

Hi.
So one of the computers with windows 8.1 on our team freezes at conneting to ftp 10.xx.yy.2 while deploying code wiht netbeans, java.
Any ideas on how to solve it?

I don't know of any inherent compatibility issues with NetBeans and Windows 8.1 (as in, I run NetBeans on Windows 8.1 without issue). Can you be more specific about the nature of the freezing? Does only NetBeans freeze, or the whole system crashes?

Are you sure the output isn't freezing? We've been stuck at that point before and needed to change our network settings.

I believe it is the output window that is freezing. Netbeans usually connects normally and uploads, but occasionally, the output window stops at connecting to ftp @10.30.44.2, and will not go any further, and we cannot do any further uploads until we restart netbeans. i have tried reinstalling the plugins, and this will not fix it. if you have any ideas, it would be very useful as this is a very irritating bug.

I know that on some of our machines, Windows Firewall blocks the FTP connection by default. You can try temporarily disabling it in the Control Panel when working with robot code. Also, the next time this happens, you should try pinging the cRIO and/or manually opening an FTP session from the command line to test network connectivity.

Try reinstalling Netbeans! I run 8.1 (but hexboot ubuntu and windows 7). I've never had this problem! I actually think everything runs better in 8.1 than in 7!
