losing connection to cRIO over wifi
We are having problems connecting to the radio through wifi. It seems that it is more of a laptop problem because when looking on the taskbar that shows the connections, it rotates between connected and connecting. When looking at the driver station, the robot code and the connection continuously blinks green and red. The only time that it seems to work is when we restart. That lasts for about a minute. We have ran the bridge configuration and our ip address is 10.37.93.9 and our subnet is 255.255.255.0.We do not have a problem using the crossover cable between the laptop and the cRIO. We are not using our classmate for this. But, we are in the process of updating the classmate to see if the laptop is the problem. We have an outdated driver station currently on the classmate but on the taskbar it is showing that we have a continuous connection. Any ideas on what to check for or troubleshooting would be greatly appreciated.

Re: losing connection to cRIO over wifi
Are you connected on the 2.4 GHz or 5.0 GHz band ?
We run our stuff exclusively on 5.0 GHz. When we do demos and such many schools and malls have such 2.4G congestion you can't do anything. We also use a dual-band N router connected with an ethernet cable to the driverstation. The robot is connected to the router via wifi. We give each band on the router a unique ID and have the bridge connect to the SSID for the 5GHz band. And we don't use the DS connecting the the bridge in AP mode. With that setup, we never ever have problems. If you live on the farm you can do it the AP way but it isn't worth the trouble in other settings. We never have a problem with this setup |

How is your radio mounted? If hidden by metal, radio waves cannot get through.
