FESTO pneumatic switch
Our team is having trouble with the festo pneumatic switch. We have already plugged it into slot 1 & 2 on the cRIO, like shown in a diagram we got. I have checked, my code, and rechecked it. I am not sure where our error is, any help? I am so confused

Re: FESTO pneumatic switch
Maybe some details on your code and the connections would help us help you

Re: FESTO pneumatic switch
in begin. vi :
I have the it set to relay 1 channel and D I/O 1 channel connected to a Compressor open. The comp. open lead to a comp. set, which named the compressor "com". That leads to a compressor start. in finish.vi: Outside the shell, I have a compressor get connected (by refnum name "com"). Inside the shell, I have a compressor close connected back to the compressor get |
Re: FESTO pneumatic switch
What are you expecting to happen? What is happening instead?

Re: FESTO pneumatic switch
We were also having problems with the FESTO valves! We went to a prebag competition and our robot was unable to do anything but drive because the FESTOs just wouldn't work! :(

Re: FESTO pneumatic switch
Are the lights on your solenoid breakout lighting up when you attempt to actuate the solenoid? If they aren't it is most likely a code issue. If they are check your voltage supplied to the breakout. 12v solenoids need 12v and 24v need 24v or they won't work very well.
We had the same issue earlier in the season until we noticed that we forgot to supply power to the breakout board. |
Re: FESTO pneumatic switch
Like some people have mentioned, make sure that your breakout has power (so the LED on it should be on.) Then make sure that your breakout is on the right module (the solenoid module must be in the third slot of the cRIO. It's the module with 6ish green LEDs on it, if you need to the number should be easy enough to find.) Then try flipping your connector, it's an easy mistake to make (especially since the diagram is labelled in the side while the pins are on the top.) Hope you solve your problem!
