Lee's Summit Scrimmage

Just wanted to say Thank You to the Lee's Summit teams (1730 - Team Driven, 1987- Broncobots, and 1986 Team Titanium) for hosting an awesome scrimmage today at their field. Special thanks to 1730 for letting us into your shop and for your willingness to loan us parts.

There were some great robots there, looks like Kansas City is going to be a very competitive regional once again.

Lessons learned so far:
Know where your truss shot lands so other bots can know where to position themselves for catching.
Shooting on the fly can change a lob shot into a long distance shot.

What other observations have teams made from scrimmages so far?

I'm really glad that 1730 and the other Lee's Summit teams invited us to join.

Looks like the game will settle down to a few 'roles'. inbounder, runner, forward.

Not many shots over the beam and I didn't see any catches in a match.

I'll post more movies later. I'm not even sure that Titanium would be okay with us 'revealing' their robot, but this was in public.

And I think our Team 1108 robot really looks good in this too.

We look very similar to 1986.

In that case, you have a really good looking 'bot. The 1986 machine, up close, is a work of art.

Thanks to the 3 host teams. This was a terrific opportunity for the local teams to test things out.

The bot from 1108 did look really good. Nice shooter. We caught a lot of passes over the truss today from several teams though, including during match 7. Caught one from 1986 and scored it.

It was really exciting to see how teams can work together and complete the full cycle for max points. The 60 point cycle is definitely a thing.

Probably I didn't see them because each match was different and the ones where we were in didn't have them. Still not sure if the beam will be a big affect though.

And thanks for the compliment on 1108. We're really pleased.

I would have never guessed your robot did that based on the picture you posted.

The picture is deceiving.
Other than the arc top of 1986 (ours is flat), the profile is similar.

But based on what I saw, we shoot differently achieving the same end goal. I made the comment because, after watching a few Youtube matches of Week 0 scrimmages, I didnt really see any robots that looked like ours. Only 1986 reminded me of ours.

Just FYI, team titanium 1986 has FOUR shooting positions and arcs.

Also, now that the 'reveal' videos are out, I don't think anyone will object to me posting a few scrimmage videos...

There are at least two complete matches and a few 'scenes' on youtube channel 'hrench'.

Thanks for waiting to make these public. We had a lot of fun loading your robot at the scrimmage. A rock solid shooter to be sure.
