What are you bagging and tagging?

This season has been a little hectic (to understate things) in terms of weather. As such, I'm sure a lot of teams out there are splitting up things and taking advantage of the increased weight limit of prefabs you can bring to a match.

What's your team doing?

We're bagging our electronics board and keeping our entire mechanical robot, which weighs ~42 pounds.

It isn't clear to me, but do we have to bag and tag the bumpers or do we get to withhold them ?

Bumpers do not need to be bagged.

Bumpers are exempt from bagging and the 45lb withholding allowance per R18.

Bumpers don't have to go in the bag.

This should answer that question

Items exempt from this limit are:

the OPERATOR CONSOLE,
BUMPERS, and
any ROBOT battery assemblies (as described in R5-A).

For the first time ever we are bagging a complete and hopefully after getting the programming dialed in today, a fully functioning robot for the first time ever!

Don't forget that any modified spare parts or backups is also included in that 45 pounds.

Re: What are you bagging and tagging?

We have a 4 wheel independent swerve drive. We made 4 modules so far and the other 2 back ups will be made in the next week or so. we have a pickup and a shooter currently being made, and we are also bolting on the electronics (not behind at all). our swerve weighs about 7 lbs and 13 ounces fully assembled, and we have an insanely rigid frame. we think we will get everything in the bag this year, and if we don't our robot is on a sub module system. but you will will not see all the swerves in the bag, as we will be playing with them until the mod periods.
Good luck with whatever your bagging first teams!

Electronics board, battery, and some COTS weights we'll add for ballast at the competition.

What's a ballast used for? I've heard the word when talking about trebuchets, is that what it's used for.
