How to program the D-Link for wireless?

I've ran through, to the letter, the steps to program the D-link for wireless use available under the LabVIEW tutorials. The only problem is it's not working. I was hoping to get a more specific step by step on how to do it, as the one through the tutorials is out-of-date compared to the more recent D-link program.

Are you using the "FRC Bridge Configuration Utility"?

For use in your build space, set it to AP mode by using the switch on the back (2.4 or 5.0GHz, depending on what bands your laptop is capable of... if you don't know, go with 2.4 GHz first). Then plug in the laptop to the bridge, and launch the FRC Bridge Configuration Utility. Put in your team number and run it - it'll take care of the rest!

Then you just need to enable wifi on the laptop, join the new network that appeared (the name for the network should be your team number), and manually set your IP address to 10.XX.YY.05, where XXYY is your 4-digit team number. The .05 can also be changed to something else not in use, which lets you have your driver station and a programming laptop connected at the same time.

Chase the links from http://www.usfirst.org/roboticsprogr...ical-resources , focusing on Control System hardware and software, until you reach http://wpilib.screenstepslive.com/s/...o-for-home-use , then follow the directions.

I tried using the FRC D-Link utility, but it said something about an error. I'm going to a meet soon so I'll be able to report back.

If the bridge is password locked or has an unexpected IP address, then you'll see an error message from the Utility and it will instruct you to use the reset on the back of the DLink to reset it to factory default settings.

Warning: only push the reset on the DLink AFTER it has already been powered up. Bad things happen if you are pushing the reset button as the power comes on.

Re: How to program the D-Link for wireless?

The error just says that an error occurred while initializing the computer network settings and that it must shut down.

Perhaps try the Utility from a different computer.

No alternative computer with the software, sadly.
