Orange status light not turning on

Hello All,
This is my first time on these forums, so pardon me if I'm posting in the wrong place.

So yesterday, our team's robot was working fine and all our systems (except pneumatics, which I also have a question about) were working well. Today, when I downloaded the latest program to try to get pneumatics working, the orange status light didn't turn on and the little indicator on the sidecar wasn't lit either, but the 3 voltage lights were on. We have perfect communication with our CRIO and all our Victors were working. I also tried replacing the sidecar and flashing the CRIO (I use LabVIEW).

So basically we have 3 problems that we can't seem to solve:
1. Our robot's orange indicator light doesn't work, and neither does the light indicator on the sidecar.
2. Our robot refuses to move, but I can see the motor speed change on the dashboard indicators (I'm currently using the default Dashboard).
3. Our pneumatics (more specifically, the compressor) also refuses to turn on. I have it programmed based on team 358's programming guide, and wired the compressor like so:
  • Compressor + and - connectors to M+ and M- on VEX PRO SPIKE
  • The VEX PRO SPIKE connected to Relay 1 through a PWM cable.
  • The 12V and GND on the SPIKE connected to the Power Dist. Board w/ a 20 Amp fuse on both the Power Dist. Board and the SPIKE.
  • The Pressure sensor connected to DIO 1.
We are using a CRIO-FRC II, so does it matter where any of the modules are connected? Is there any guide on programming the Compressor, because I currently have the control loop outside of the Periodic Tasks VI loops?

Thanks for any help you can provide!

YES.

You must have the Analog module in Slot 1.
You must have the Digital module in Slot 2.
You may put a Solenoid module in Slot 3.
You may put a second module of any type in Slot 4.

Make sure that the cable from the cRIO to the sidecar is fully seated, and that the sidecar receiving power from a normal 12V output on the power distribution board.

Thanks, it was just the modules being in the wrong place. :ahh:

Now, the only problem i have is the pneumatics. I have it all hooked up the way the wiring diagrams say (also described above). Is there something I may be doing wrong?

Thanks for all your help!

What color is the light on the relay, and the corresponding light on the sidecar?

Red on relay. nothing on the side car.

I apparently got it to work after I enabled Tele-OP. Is it supposed to only turn on during Tele-OP? Or is it supposed to run all the time?

Also, is there any guide on programming Solenoids? I have them hooked up to the Solenoid Breakout on the CRIO.

Thanks!

Relays only work when the robot is Enabled.
So the compressor will only run while the robot is Enabled by the Driver Station.

There are LabVIEW solenoid examples included in the installation.
Look under the Getting Started window -> Support -> Find FRC examples... -> pneumatics

There are some simple examples spread across this page too.

When the robot is enabled, and the compressor supposed to be running, the sidecar relay light, and the light on the relay should both be green.
