Dean list award

I have a couple of question about the deans list award... (probably shouldnt ask these the night before they are do.)

are mentors suppose to write your essay?

Is there anything wrong with students (nominees) writing?

The award must be submitted by a mentor via TIMS. It is common practice for a mentor to write the essay, however, there is no rule saying that team members cannot help the mentor write it.

Re: Dean list award

Last year I wrote the Dean's List essay for a fellow junior, with some editing help from a mentor. She (the junior) also wrote the essay for me.

So yeah, definitely no rules against it, considering she was a finalist (at North Star Regional) :P

Probably wouldn't recommend it for most teams though-- if we weren't on such good terms, it could have turned out ugly.
