Are you worried about the pickup bending in a collision?

You might want to consider using lexan to add some flexibility when hit like bomb squad in 2008

I'd also be concerned about how exposed those pistons are-- an accidental collision with an extended arm (which definitely isn't out of the question this year) could be brutal on this (or any other similarly exposed) mechanism, especially with a thin shaft.

Yes we were worried about bending - but even after five competitions it came through pretty much unscathed, requiring only once to have a small bend removed.

We never did add the stiffing modification.
