Drill motor copper electrical connector

Coach on team #639, Red B^2, from Ithaca High School and Cornell University.

Today at some point one of our drill motor electrical connectors fell off... We had the wire shrink-wrapped and soldered on, but the copper ripped where the hole was in the middle, giving us only a few millimeters of copper sticking out of the motor.

Anyone have any suggestions? We have no spares.

Thanks
Patrick

yeah, we had this happen to one of our motors from an old robot. We just soldered the wire back onto the remaining tab. What you should do to prevent breaking is to bend the wire so it lays against the motor casing. Tie-wrap the wire to the motor. This will reduce the possibility for undue stress on the motor tabs from the large moment arm of the wire.
