Great job guys!

And Thank you to the Hotbotz for suggesting we get together to practice!

That does look very good. But I am really confused on one point. Since you both have the NC regional still coming up, your robots should be bagged. Did you both build two robots?

I'd guess they each have a practice bot- many teams like to build a second robot to continue driver practice and programming, which are great for practices like this.

looks good, with some more practice shooting into the high goal you should be able to get that time down 3-5sec...

Yes - we both built functionally equivalent (although aesthetically less pleasing) practice bots this year...first time for us...I think the second time for 900.

Not seen in the video or the post was how gracious, kind and friendly our hosts in Durham were. The small group we had in attendance can't stop talking about it. Thanks Zebracorns! See you Thursday morning.

Is that a frisbee lined with retro-reflective tape on your HP's chest? (or a vision target without reflective tape?)

If so, that is brilliant...

Yup, it's a frisbee lined with retro-reflective tape. We were experimenting with a system for automatic aiming, and it worked great! The glasses he's wearing are to help protect him from the bright camera light.

That's a brilliant idea! How did you guys line up at Palmetto? Was it just driver practice and a good guess or was there a camera involved?

Our human player and driver coordinated via hand signals to line up previously. We also had a flashlight set up inside a PVC tube so that the hp could only see the light if the robot was aligned correctly. We're using auto-aiming now because it's much faster.

Looks like Tucker did a good job of always keeping one foot in the box!
