This is very true. It is too bad that it will be overlooked again with much of the attention being drawn to 254-1114-2056 at Waterloo. If people want a good prediction of how the championship will play out, Wisconsin, not Waterloo, is the event to watch. With a field of 60 teams, roughly 40 of which have already competed, there will be some very capable robots watching Saturday afternoon.

Does anyone have the link the webcast?

The Midwest vs Wisconsin regional scale has been tipping over the last few years. Wisconsin is definitely going to be a killer event.

There are a bunch of awesome teams (besides 1675) also making their debuts here... and I have to say that some of the ones I've seen are definitely scary  .

Someone added it to the list already, but we whipped up a robot video over the weekend. Meet Charles Xavier / Professor X.

GRT will be meeting at the school at 3:50 AM Wednesday to get to our flight. It should be a great event. See you there.:)

Make sure you guys bring jackets! I'm seeing 40's for the rest of the week. Sweater weather for us after the winter we just went through, but might be a little chilly for you guys ;)

Also Milwaukee looks pretty gross right now since all the snow melted last week, hopefully a light rainshower comes through to at least pretty it up a little.

Chicago needs a good soaking to clean up the mess.

Also our load in peeps(me and others) get to leave for Wisconsin at 5:30am. I am so excited but not for that.

Any word on a webcast for this event? The regional website says that there will not be one because of no internet at the venue? Not even match results?

Good luck to everyone on Team 48 heading up to Wisconsin. It's been a long time since I missed a regional with you--I'll be with you all in spirit!

According to their Facebook page, there is now a webcast. I am sure their website will be updated soon.

Does this mean no data for apps like Spyder? Will match data be posted at some point when someone has internet access such as Friday night, or will results not be posted during the whole event? The site says to follow the twitter feed, but will there be match data posted on twitter without internet access?

The event will go on without, but these things are nice for those at the venue as well as those who can't make it and want to follow teams at the event.

Edit: Sounds like there will be access after all. Yay!

With our preparation to fix out battle scars from CIR, 4296 is ready for Wisconsin to play some more heavy defense
Or as referenced at CIR... BattleBots... haha

Good luck everyone! See you tomorrow!

FYI,

Be aware that the cost of parking sounds like it could be $50-$70 on Thu and Sat due to NCAA basketball. One of our mentors called the Wisconsin Center District office and they said their parking rate is normally $15 and would not be above their special event rate of $20 but she said that since the Bradley center was going to be $75 and theirs would be the least expensive in the area, their lot will likely fill fast.

Parking at Grande Avenue Mall is a bit farther away but only costs $15.

From the regional chairman......

Teams,
Great news! Thanks to some generous late minute sponsors, we are proud to announce that the Wisconsin Regional will be broadcast live, in high definition, on the internet!

Here’s the link: http://205.196.146.40/frc/

The capability provided by 5Nines will auto-detect flash browser, iPhone/iPad, and most Android 4.x series phones properly. Don’t forget to click the “HD” button on the upper right to see the feed in High Definition!

We hope you’ll share this information with your friends and family that can’t be here in person, and once again, offer sincere thanks to Sargent Productions, 5Nines, and the Wisconsin Center District for making this happen.

Good Luck Teams!!

Jeff Fenstermaker
Chairman, Wisconsin FRC Regional Planning Committee

This!

Thank you to everyone who helped make this happen. This will be a great competitive regional as always, and the HD broadcast puts it over the top.

I cannot agree more. We were worried that we wouldn't have a live feed for At The Control, but now that we do, you can remind your alumni, parents, and sponsors that they can watch your team at competitions on http://www.atthecontrol.com/.
Good luck to all the teams competing at the regional! I'm sure it will be a fantastic event as usual.
