2014 North Carolina Regional

I noticed our regional did not have a thread, so I guess this is it. Good luck to everyone as we start the competition tomorrow!

What a great day! We finished off in the number one sport (we'll enjoy it while it lasts) and our coach, Rich Coutant, won the Woodie Flowers Finalist Award. Thanks everyone for the great experience so far!

At the NC regional teams 1287 and 4996 got what is called the "Hard Hat" award....and its listed on the First site in the awards for that regional. What is this? Its not listed in the manual.

It is referenced in the safety manual.

"FRC participants will use the input card below (it's a picture of the caution tape card handed out to all teams)to provide feedback to Safety Advisors. Safety Advisors will use this information, as well as the following criteria, to determine the Hard Hat Pin Award winners:
1. Community Outreach
2. Safety Initiatives (at the event)
3. Program Presentations (Safety Program Development)"

At some regionals it is only awarded to two teams instead of three. Not sure why there is a discrepancy but I suspect it is just an outdated reference in the safety manual.

Congrats to 900 on the best team name, and to al the winners this weekend. Congrats to the Pitt Pirates who won the Chairman's Award! They were great partners last year in DC (I still use my neon green bandanna to flag down low-flying aircraft) and hope you guys do well in St Louis!

The Hawk Collective wants to thank to our NC alliance partners Robo Eagles (4828) & Hotbotz (2640) for allowing us to participate in two great elimination matches Saturday afternoon. If we had to lose, at least it was to the alliance that won it all. And congrats to the Zebracorns (900), our 2012 VA alliance partner, on your alliance's NC Regional win.

Also congrats to the Rembrandts (4481) on winning the Engineering Inspiration award.

Thank you, 2641 The Vikings and 4481 The Rembrandts, for selecting 339 Kilroy! Congrats to 2642 The Pitt Pirates for winning Chairman's and the Industrial Safety Award! Great job, Sunny and Logan.

I'm proud to say that 339 Kilroy won Innovation in Control this year. I also won Star of the Day on Thursday. This is a regional I'll never forget. I hope to see lots of these teams in DC!

Team 900 is missing a dremel... if anyone has it it'd be great if you could get it back to us! Please post if you think you've got it.
