Hard Hat Safety Award Colors
 

Hello,

537 attended the Crossroads Regional last weekend and received their second Hard Hat Safety Award. This one is yellow, while the one we received last year was green.

We only received enough to give to our travel team, but there are 30 other members that weren't in attendance, so our advisor was wondering if we could just give those members the pin from last year. Since it's a different color, she didn't know if it meant something different and neither do I.

I've searched the forums here as well as the FIRST website and 2014 Safety Manual and have come up with nothing explaining the difference in color. I'm assuming that the colors just change depending on the year, but I would like to be sure before we give them out.

As far as I can tell, they just change color. Since I've been on my team, the colors have been orange, green, and yellow. They don't seem to mean anything except making a difference between years.

You may want to try contacting the safety advisers. 157 received the same award and although they only gave us 20 pins to start with, we have a 22 student team. They came back and offered more after though and then gave us another bag of 20.

I'm not sure how well that would work because of the timing, but it may be worth a shot! :)
