Actually, it sounds like some cool FRC remix.

Did everyone lose the sound in the webcast?

We turned off the sound because of the looping. No sound just seemed like the better alternative.

Got the problem fixed over lunch, it should be a-ok now.

Yup, seems fixed. Thanks for streaming!

I was pretty darn close. Also took a look at the awards list and noted its similarity to Buckeye- congrats to all the visiting winning teams!

Seriously, just look at those awards lists. Ohio got GP and WFFA at QC. Are outside teams that good? Are Ohio teams that bad? Do judges have some kind of extreme sense of state self-loathing?

We appreciate your confidence in us (525), but unfortunately we were killed by one issue after another. It was pretty crazy really. (Note to self: never say "Nothing else can go wrong now.") We finally got everything working again for the second quarter final match but our alliance lead tipped over in the early in the match. It was good to finish our last match with everything working again - maybe a bit of confidence for the students in St. Louis.

We had a great time in Queen City - made lots of new friends. 4830 had a good time also - a highlight was when Eric from our team and the mentor from 4830 got to game announce a match in Mandarin with 525 and 4830 on the same alliance.

Queen City is by far the best regional in Ohio. The entire group of organizers, judges, referees, and staff are student-centric, and that makes a big difference in the overall feeling you have as a team -- you actually feel important instead of feeling like you broke some rule and are about to get punished.

Blue Cheese had a "grate" time at this regional. All of the matches were very competitive, the venue was awesome, and the teams were really nice. I hope we get to come here again in 2015.

I was very impressed with the whole 525 team. I completely understand the frustration when one thing after another goes wrong (that was QCR for us last year, until eliminations when our bad mojo rubbed off on 1038) but you handled it well. And you have a really nice robot. Your human player was good a nice young man as well.

I also would like to congratulate the Quadrangles (3494) and the Metrobots (3324). Two nice teams we have played with in the past who had good robots and played well this weekend. The RoboAces (4283) was also impressive with the tweaking of their robot from Crossroads to Queen City.

As for the Bomb Squad, they do have an amazing robot, but it was their driving that really impressed me. There were plenty of times as a ref when I was watching one action on one end of the field and all of a sudden they would appear and slide right through a swarm of robots for a score or some play defense, then zip right back out.

That attitude is a reflection of the RPC. I have been privileged to serve with most of them as a team mentor. Student-centric is an accurate description. They are committed to the growth of the students and the growth of the program. I know that they appreciate you sharing that feedback. It is well deserved and well earned. And I concur.

Knowing you, I understand that you are being humorously serious. We were fortunate to have the participation of some very fine teams from around the globe. I think that the judges made excellent decisions. I would say that Ohio teams are good and there were a few teams from outside of Ohio from whom we can all learn a few things. It was great fun and I sure hope QCR continues to attract such a diverse field ... China, seriously ... that was impressive.

Team Roboto would like to thank the event staff for continuing to put on an incredible event. We would also like to thank the teams 16 and 2665 for being great alliance partners, and helping us win the event. We could not have done it without our entire alliance working together as well as it did while everyone did what they needed to do. Congratulations to all of the teams that went for making Queen City such a competitive and great event!

Greetings,

Sorry we are bit late, It has been a bit crazy since we got off the bus Sunday.

So, where to start...

Thanks to Beak Squad (4028) for seeing what our drive team and robot could do despite our ranking. The FEDS (201) are a great team: easy to work with and professional through and through. I wish we had the first QF match back. We had a battery wire ripped out of our robot. Who knows what the last 45 seconds could have been with three working robots.

Bomb Squad (16): This was my first time seeing a swerve used to such perfection. The phrase, "they move like butter on hot skillet" doesn't begin to describe your robot. It was a pleasure meeting your entire team. I hope we get on the field with you again at Worlds.

Might Monkey Wrenches (2016): Your entire program is a true example of what a FIRST team should be. From your outreach, safety program, diversity and quality of robot design I cannot find a weak link in your program. Congrats on your EI award. Best of luck at Worlds.

SwartDogs (525): Thanks for answering all my questions throughout the weekend. Your design and control systems are something most teams can only dream of. Best of luck in St. Louis!

QCR is an awesome event. If our schedule and bank account permit, we will most definitely come back.
