Student on team #254, The Cheesy Poofs, from Bellarmine College Preparatory.



Ok, we finally have some pictures of our robot. Sorry we didn't make a page but here's a series of links. Our robot can do the following things:
1.Grab both goals and balance
2.Grab 1 goal and the stretcher, drag it across the bridge and then release the stretcher before picking up a second goal
3.Pick up 2 large balls and place them on top of the goals

Your robot reminded me of a question that i
couldn't remember the answer to: when they say
the light must be visible from four spots, 90
degrees apart, do they mean from all four sides of
the robot, or, like in team 249,can it be mounted
vertically and not horizontally?

hi, i'm another member of team 254, and my interpretation of that is as long as u can see the light from multiple angles (mostly for the ppl in the stands) and ours is even when the light is point away from u, can see wut color it is, so...

I asked that question a few weeks ago and the answer was in one of the updates, I think it was #4. FIRST's response was basically the same as Eric's. That is, as long as they can see it they don't care. You can even use reflective surfaces to get the color where you need it if you want. Identification seems to be the important point. So they don't disable the wrong robot :(.

Thanks -- but to be honest, that was totally accidental. Those banners have been up on that wall all year, so we don't even notice them. Hope it didn't come across as arrogant or planned -- it just happened that way.

Greetings to the Cheesy Poofs.
Your robot is looking really good! Shall we expect your robot to rule the field of Cal regional again~?!?
But trust me, you will be facing tough competition this year, even though everyone are supposed to win in this year's game.

Sorry I couldn't respond to this message earlier. We've been really busy the past few days getting ready for shipping (who isn't?). But now that's in the past I would like to look ahead to the future...

Regionals are comming up. GRT will be at least sending a few of the crews down to SoCal regional, while we will be competing in Silicon valley. So we will be meeting you in both place. Maybe we can work together with other teams in regional?
