2014 Windsor-Essex Great Lakes Regional

The inaugural Windsor-Essex Great Lakes Regional is in less than a week!

The hashtag that's we've been trying to use is #FRCWEGL

This will be our first chance to see a whole bunch of new robots - and teams - in competition. Out of the 40 teams registered, 13 are rookies... and I believe this will be the first event for all of them.

So... who's excited for the WEGLR*?

*I've been trying to encourage people to call it the WEGLR - pronounced "wiggler" - but so far, it hasn't caught on. :D

1241-GTRW Chairman's
1285-GTRE Winners
1305-Waterloo EI/North Bay Chairman's

My mistake: all but one.

AFAIK, only regional wins create wildcard spots.

So the only spots are generated from 1285 and 2056.

Also, 771 won The Chairman's Award at Pittsburgh yesterday.

Anyone who has qualified at a prior 2014 regional can create a wildcard (see 4914 yesterday at North Bay.)

771 won Chairman's at Pittsburgh, not 772, and they won't be attending the wiggler.

772 won EI at North Bay.

That's news to me. That's really cool though!

It's here, and probably the blue alliance eventually too.

I'm just waiting for some volunteers to setup the hardware as I am not at the event until tomorrow. We will get it up and broadcasting as soon as possible.

How did 4678 get picked third last? they are one of the best front zone scorers in Canada, played amazing in Waterloo. The 2809, 4678, 4814 alliance is really, really good. Three smart well driven robots. Any of the 4 semi-finals alliances can win this.

edit: 4678 was actually picked 3rd.

Did 5288 change their configuration for elims?

Thanks, the TBA alliance order mixed me up. But could say the same thing about 4814.

I believe 1114 and 2056 built them a new robot during lunch :yikes:

Wow, the #5 alliance of 4525, 4519 and 4917 is really holding their own against the #1 of 1114, 2056 and 5288.

Series is tied 1-1, and the underdogs had a shot to win in the 2nd match, as they had a 3 assist ball in play they just couldn't score as time ran out.

These are really entertaining matches!

The #3 alliance of 2809, 4678 and 4814 alliance has looked really good too...
