THOR!

Sweet robot and even better team. Congrats on your win and chairman's win at 10K.

I forgot to ask when I was looking at your robot, is the hammer named Mjolnir?

Lovely, effective mechanism, similar to, but much more compact than ours.

Did you have any systems in place to prevent the wind-up from evicerating a robot behind yours?

It was obvious that 3313 would go places when we saw them at the week 0 event this year.

Thanks for all the kind words everyone! The design came together really nicely this year. We had some problems through build season, but generally speaking, it was a low stress 6 weeks. We're super proud of it.

It is definitely named Mjolnir. We almost named it "Myaw myaw" from Thor 2 but thought that Mjolnir sounded better. <------ Super nerdy reference

To be honest, no.

Our driver, Bryce, has 3 years of experience so we trust him to make the correct decision on positioning the robot and avoid others. Knock on wood(en hammer), we have never caused any damage with the hammer. After seeing the force of the hammer swing, robots tend to stay away from it. When robots try to position behind us, Bryce does a cool spin move thing to avoid them.

That robot was my favorite at 10K Lakes

When you swing the hammer, do you use a pre-set sequence to release the grippers at the right time? Or is it all manual?
Congrats on the win and chairmans! Can't wait to see you guys in St. Louis!

Very nice concept! I hope we will meet at St-Louis... I want to see this in action!

Thank you!! We are so excited to go to St. Louis. We will definitely stop by your pit and say hi!

We use iterative Java and it's a timed sequence. I believe the grippers open 50 ms (or close to that) before the hammer actually hits the ball. We took some time after completing the initial design to get the timing exactly right. It's cool because in super slow motion, the ball is actually in free fall when the hammer hits.
