Re: Multi-Ball Autonomous Club
Team 708 went out in our first match of our Week 1 competition with neither of our alliance partners being confident in their autonomous. So we decided to run our 2 ball hoping it was going to work and it did. Our drive team wasn't too happy about "testing" it in the first match (it was supposed to be kept until eliminations) but they were happy when it worked. :)

Re: Multi-Ball Autonomous Club
I've been very impressed with all the multi-ball autos I've seen this year. It certainly has been a very interesting challenge.
As mentioned above, team 4488 Shockwave has 1-ball hot, 2-ball hot, 2-ball non-hot, and 3-ball non-hot modes. I'm very proud of our programming students for pulling this off. They played around with lots of cool stuff in the preseason such as vision tracking and using a gyro for alignment (go back to straight even when kicked or bumped, press a button to turn 90 degrees, etc.). They applied a lot of this to our autonomous this year. The drive team can select what goal to shoot at via a Kinect at the driver station or during the 1-ball routine trigger the fire. During auto the robot uses a gyro and drive encoder to guarantee drive distance and orientation. The video link that SciBorg Dave provided above is a great example of the system in action. Quote:
Also, 4061's robot is an amazing work of engineering. Such a cool design. We're excited to go to St. Louis next week and look forward to seeing you guys and so many other great teams competing! |

Re: Multi-Ball Autonomous Club
There were a number of teams in PNW District Championships that had 2 ball routines (with varying degrees of accuracy) but did not get a chance to show them off.
Here's what I think is a (nearly) complete list of the Oregon teams who have at least made one two ball routine, including those that did not make the District Championships. Forgive me if I missed a team, I didn't get a chance to watch every match in the district this year :) 4488 - ShockWave 1425 - Error Code Xero 1540 - Flaming Chickens 955 - CV Robotics 2374 - Crusader Bots 2635 - Lake Monsters Here are the Washington teams that I've seen 2 ball, but I may have missed a few since we didn't attend any WA districts: 2471 - Team Mean Machine 4061 - SciBorgs 1318 - IRS 2046 - Bear Metal 488 - Team XBot |
Re: Multi-Ball Autonomous Club
Team 95: 3 ball autonomous in the low goal. As far as I know our team is the only one to even attempt a 3 ball low goal autonomous. Our team attempted this move twice and it was successful both times. We can also do a 0, 1, or 2 ball autonomous move as well.
