Looks like you have new material for a robot next year!

That's pretty awesome. Add some gold foil and it would look like a NASA spacecraft.

I have to ask, what did you do to them?

They put googly eyes on everything in our pit. And I mean everything. http://imgur.com/a/fcfXw

(Also, here are some more shots of their pit, including an aerial shot and a close up of our good luck message: http://imgur.com/a/od5ho )

Well done!

So when did you do this and what were the volunteers like when you guys were doing it? Must have been priceless...

Thanks! We did it during load-in for MAR Champs (so last night), and we got permission from the event manager, because it didn't technically count as "set up." There were a lot of odd stares, a few laughs, and mostly "you're not allowed to set up," followed by "We're not! We're not even on this team!"

It seemed to be a big hit today though, we kept hearing people talking about it, and volunteers coming up and asking to see photos.

It was a whole lot of fun, and we had some help from 225, 816, 365, and 1640 so we could get everything done on the tight deadline (aka before the venue closed and we made Tom mad).

This reminds me of a certain SNL skit with Christopher Walken.

Here is our wrap video from the Dallas Regional. We owed 2789 and their pit happened to be right next to ours.

Gosh. I never knew it wasn't illegal! That springs me some ideas for next year! :D

BTW, have you seen the giant googly eyes on (I think) 1723's robot?!

We did our best to think of a prank that wouldn't be damaging, too time consuming for clean up, or detrimental to the success of our friends. So keep that in mind if you decide to plan your own prank. We also cleared it with a couple of mentors before we did it, so that it was all in good spirits (and they did the same for the googly eyes).

As for 1723, I haven't seen it, do you have a link? And are they anything like the ones on 2495's robot last year?

At the PNW District Championships the FTAs switched some of the robots around in the pits overnight. Things were running smoothly, and everyone seemed to enjoy the joke.
