Indiana Rankings - 2014

Below are the "district style" rankings for Indiana.

We use the standard FIRST District points system, with just a few modifications. We use the teams best event, but only one event, since not all teams can attend multiple competitions, and we give the rookie and 2nd year teams 5 points and 2.5 points as a bonus since we just use 1 event for points instead of two in the districts. We also make an adjustment for events with less than 12 matches in Qualifications.

Our State Championship is May 10 in Elkhart, IN. Since it is a 1 day event, alliance captains are based on the point rankings. The top 24 teams are invited to the CHP.

I wish I could say that being ranked 33rd was strategic on our part. ;)

Here's the official FB page of the IndianaFIRST State Championships.

Team 2867 ElkLogics is really excited to be hosting this event.

If you guys have been to the Purdue event, we have a much larger facility so there is plenty of seating.

Interesting ... Honorary, Indiana First Team 1756 was left off the list. We definitely look forward to a district model between our states though.

1741 Red Alert is proud to have worked with 868 TechHOUNDS and 1018 RoboDevils to win the Indiana FIRST State Championship. I still can't believe either of you were still available to pick during your respective rounds. Our alliance really showed how 3 well built robots along with 3 drive teams who communicate well can work together to follow a strategy to victory. The occasional 75 point auto didn't hurt!

Thank you, to our opponents during eliminations for giving us great matchups. None of those were "easy" victories. You really demonstrated that Indiana has a bunch of top notch teams.

The venue was fairly nice, plenty of seating, reasonably priced concessions. You could hear the sound in the pits, and the big screen was mostly visible from the pits, though there was a banner blocking the bottom portion, so it was hard to tell who was in the match or what the live score was.

Congratulations to teams 1741 Red Alert, 868 TechHOUNDS, and 1018 RoboDevils for winning the Indiana State Championship. Their alliance put on some brutal defense throughout the tournament!

I was very impressed with all of the robots at the championship. While we would have liked to have done better ourselves, it was very fun and entertaining watching the display these teams put on, especially in the finals.

While it was a long drive (~4-5 hrs) for our team coming up from Bloomington, it was definitely worth the trip! The facility was great and I definitely appreciated the Round Table discussion put on by the Indiana FIRST representatives.
