For the Archimedes webcast, I'm currently getting a page with just "encrypted" text... The other fields provide the appropriate video feed (not any live video yet, though).

Looks like we have our first surprise of the event, Wisconsin rookies 5019 are sitting high up in the standings in the early going. Gotta love seeing yourselves ranked first, even if only for a couple matches.

Awesome! I see that you have most of the practice matches up and have begun uploading Thursday's matches... will you be continuing to upload Thursdays' matches? Is the process more tedious than you had been expecting?

I certainly appreciate the effort and I know that the FIRST community as a whole certainly will after the Championship, if not during the event!

Sadly we had to leave and missed the last maybe 10 matches or so today, every other one should be recorded and in process of being uploaded... I know they are limited a lot by the rather slow internet of our hotel.

We also have go-pro footage of every match with our robot, and will upload those probably, but those are a bit more for the fun of it.

As for tedious and such, I will wait on our recorders and such to respond to that... I just drive the robot haha.

Wow ....... tough weekend for us. I never would have thought we would go 0 of 9 at the end of day 2. Good news is that our robot is working well, our drivers are playing well and the students are still excited to be here. Here's hoping for a win in our last match tomorrow. :)

We're in the same boat - 0 of 9 but having a blast! As rookies, we're thrilled to have the chance to compete here and to expose our younger players to the greatest teams FRC has to offer. Good luck with your final match tomorrow! :)

Here is a link:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=BS_1...ature=youtu.be

It was the highest unpenalized alliance score (370 of the 390), the highest unpenalized total score (626 for both alliances combined), and the highest total score for matches where penalties were included (646). I'm not sure, but I suspect that 256 was the highest unpenalized losing score of the season, too. QF 1-3 was the second highest total score at 575. Those were some exciting matches.

(Edit: Greg beat me to it on the link)

Here is a shout out to team 27 RUSH: Congratulations on winning the Chairmen’s Award!

We know and have seen you work for years toward this and it’s great that all now recognize the tremendous program you have run for years. Great job & welcome to the HoF.

With this said, this is also a BIG THANK YOU for choosing us as your fourth alliance robot. You, along with team 33 Killer Bees and team 334 TechKnights, absolutely made our season. It was particularly fun since we were the only “Yellow Alliance” I remember ever seeing. It was also exciting sitting with all you folks because you enthusiasm is contagious.

We look forward to an opportunity to work again in the future. Hopefully we see you soon once inter-district play is allowed, and, there is always Championship!
(To Killer Bees, I am leaving my antennas on for the CT State Championship on May 17th, just for fun!)

In the Game Manual Section 5.4.4 says:
Quote:

In the Elimination MATCHES, Teams do not earn Qualification Points; they earn a Win, Loss or Tie. Within each series of the Elimination MATCH bracket, the first ALLIANCE to win two (2) MATCHES will advance.

In the case where the MATCH score of each ALLIANCE is equal, the tie is broken by awarding an extra point to the ALLIANCE with (in the following order):

highest number of FOUL points awarded (i.e. the ALLIANCE that played the cleaner MATCH)
if FOUL points are equal, highest number of ASSIST points
if ASSIST points are equal, highest number of AUTO points
if AUTO points are equal, highest sum of TRUSS and CATCH points

If the criteria above are equal, the MATCH is a Tie. Additional matches will be played if needed.
The score was 231-231 at the end of the match. So the refs looked at who played the "cleaner" match. There was a technical foul on the opposing alliance and the win was subsequently awarded to the 2590-1625-1477-3467 alliance.

All I can say about this division is wow. A lot of people were saying before champs that Archimedes looked a lot weaker then the others but the elims in Archimedes were easily the closest and most exciting elims that i have ever watched in my first career. I felt that every one of the 8 alliances had a chance at winning the division. Congrats to all the award winners especially 27 on their chairman's win, hope you guys come back to duluth it was really fun competing with you. Also congrats to 2158 on your EI. Finally thanks to 399 and 2056 for inviting us to join your alliance, and congrats to 1625, 2590, 1477, and 3567 on their division win.

Re: Archimedes 2014!

If you consider high losing scores to be an indication of tough matches, consider this:

Of the 9785 matches that were played in 2014, the six highest "unpenalized" losing scores occurred during eliminations on Archimedes:

265: SF 1-1, 1477/2590/1625 to 51/2485/1918 (Raw score 285 to 315)
260: QF 1-3, 399/2056/2175 to 51/2485/1918 (Raw score 260 to 315)
256: QF 1-1, 399/2056/2175 to 51/2485/1918 (Raw score 256 to 390)
253: SF 1-1, 27/33/175 to 1477/2590/1625 (Raw score 273 to 285)
251: SF 1-3, 51/2485/1918 to 1477/2590/1625 to (Raw score 251 to 285)
245: SF 1-2, 51/2485/1918 to 1477/2590/1625 to (Raw score 245 to 265)

(Data derived from a spreadsheet that "Ether" posted in the "High Score 2014" thread showing match data for all competitions all season long. In F-1 at Waterford District, 1718/3098/3773 also put up 245 in their loss to 67/51/4994, so 51 was in 6 of the top 7)

Seriously, though. I think this was my favorite alliance at the championship. Watching the 1st seed get upset with the world highscore was a sight to see.

I just wanna give a special shout out to 3467 Windham Windup for being a super awesome 4th bot to pick up. Although their robot never touched the carpet throughout elims and on Einstein, they were one of the best pit crews I've personally ever had the opportunity to work with! They were ready and willing to help contribute to the alliance in any way possible. They were an essential key to success for the 5th seeded alliance, and I want to extend my personal thanks to them as well as 2590 and 1477 for a great weekend!

Wow - what a great event. Everyone on our team had a great time and our students came away with an increased passion for FIRST. Inspiration ran amok which is probably the best indicator of a great event.

A huge thanks to 2485, 1918, and 781 for being such great alliance partners. Those matches were a lot of fun. We couldn't ask for better partners, and they were an even better group of people to work with.

I'm sorry we never got 781 in a match, but those guys did a lot to help contribute. They help a lot with keeping strategy on track, and they were great with putting an extra coach in the box - that was very valuable.

Congratulations to the Archimedes winners. Getting knocked out is always a little easier if you get knocked out by the champs, and you guys were very worthy champs.

Hopefully we'll be able to see everyone at IRI.

Unfortunately after losing early in Curie quarterfinals, I had a chance to walk over to Archimedes to catch their semifinals and finals matches. Those matches truly exemplify how this game should be played and they were definitely played at the highest levels! ..absolutely incredible scores as well..

I was totally baffled that 3467 took so long to get picked. They had 5 2014 medals going into worlds. 2x EI, Chairman's, and 2 district wins as #1 pick and #3 captain. Was very happy to see them add a 6th medal and fourth banner to their 2014 pile.

I'd like to thank all of the Archimedes teams for their outstanding cooperation during the compressed inspection process at CMP. As you know, we were able to resolve all 100 robots before match play began on Thursday morning. I appreciate the positive attitude and understanding of the very few that had to make some changes. My hope for future years is that inspection will be a positive experience for everyone. I’m proud of each and every one of you and I hope I’ll be given the opportunity to serve at future events.

Thank you Seth! While our robot may have never touched the field being able to play with three amazing teams was worth the experience! I told our guys that our main goal as a team was to keep those three robots on the field and it was great to see our guys offering assistance wherever possible. After a whirlwind of a week with travel problems playing with three powerhouse teams, making it to Einstein, and adding medal #6 to our 2014 season was awesome! We didn't have the best run in qualifications with our share of bad matches and our robot didn't start off on good foot Thursday but thank you to 2590, 1625, & 1477 for inviting us to join your alliance we hope we can play with you all in the future!

I can contact the person who did the recordings during school tomorrow for you... He told us he was in the process of uploading videos. Yet, due to the lack of videos actually being uploaded I'm not so sure on that one haha.

That would be awesome, thanks! We really wanted to see quals match 43, 54, 74, 93, 104, 119, 149 and 160 (all of the ones we played), but if it's really tight for time, then 43, 119 and 160 are the three we want to see the most.

I'd also love to see 43. Got to win against 2056, and it was our highest scoring match. Well, that might be because the other alliance had a dead robot, if I remember correctly.

We did have a dead robot (forgot which team number it was). It was unfortunate. Still, 190 points was cool to put up with only 2 robots functional!

Re: Archimedes 2014!

Hi everyone- I know this thread is a little old, but I wanted to mention that I'm currently in the process of uploading all the Archimedes Qualifications matches to the Team 20 Scouting Channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCWR...b1jPVGhpjsoLKQ

I currently have Qualifications matches 1-55 uploaded and I should be finishing up to match 70 today. I've also been putting them into the TBA spreadsheet (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/...Gc&usp=sharing) as I upload them, but if I miss any, let me know.

We are also missing match 151 for some reason, so if anyone has that match, they should upload it and post it to TBA.

Sorry it took so long to get these up, but I had to get them from our head scouts and then there was discussion as to whether we should upload them to our public channel or our scouting channel. We decided not to clutter up our public channel anymore.

Enjoy!

EDIT: Matches posted up to match 90.
