Here is an attempt to produce a "strength of schedule" spreadsheet for Netwon. I add the OPRs of your 2 partners and subtract the OPRs of your 3 opponents and then total it for all matches. (Your own OPR is not included in the total.) The total values are then normalized from 1 (easiest schedule) to 100 (hardest schedule.) You can use either Max or Average OPR (I got the values from Ed Law's database.) The usual warnings about taking OPR too seriously apply.

You can also type in a team number and list all partners and opponents.

EDIT: I loaded a new version with updated OPRs.

Below is my attempt at compiling the "Must See" matches for Newton. I used a threshold of combined OPR of 400 (using "adjusted OPR"). There will be lots of other great matches, but I was trying to go for the top 10 or so.

There are 9 matches (out of 167) in Newton with a combined OPR score higher than 400. Match 33 is the highest combined score of 480.

They are:

(Calculated using team 2834's 2014 Scouting Database using adjusted OPR)

I did this up by hand for our team, but it's nice to have an automated solution. Thanks!

Whenever I choose a team, it never changes from 525's partners/opponents.

Same for me too.

As I opened the file, I got a warning that I need to enable macros to get everything to work. Did you enable them? Even then, it takes a few seconds to update the list after you enter a different team number, so perhaps it's just being a bit slower for you

You can run the macro FindPartners manually if it isn't running for some reason.

Looks like there might be an error with 1138's OPR. They have a "Max" OPR of 1.0 but an "Average" OPR of 43.8. Not sure if that's an issue on your end or in Ed Law's spreadsheet, but it probably affects the SOS calculations.

I haven't checked if there are any others like that.

Still, this is super cool!

I did grab a few numbers from somewhere else when Ed's database was missing OPRs - it looks like there are several that don't look right.

EDIT: I linked in a new version with corrected OPRs.

I'm seeing some discrepancies in some teams max OPR compared to Ed Law's database.

811, 1305, 1294, 3256, 4949, 2035, 314, 58, 3602, 1138, 25, 1285, 3539, 1678, 111, 597, 133, 997, 1156, 3847.

I noticed that many of them competed in either week 6 or 7 (but others that did compete in weeks 6 or 7 are ok).

Edit: looks like other people noticed while I was writing this post

GAH! We're a day away from load in, and I'm excited!

Teams, I look forward to seeing your amazing robots compete. I always have two main goals for events: Kids have fun, and kids are safe. After that, there'll be some dancing, some laughter, and a lot of excitement. Our volunteers are coming from all over the country to have what I feel will be the BEST field of all the divisions.

Good luck, teams! Practice it with me, ISAAC! NEWTON!

According to this, your preliminary schedule is just fine to go by.
