Our team wasn't sure what the SW logo was supposed to be until I was talking to my dad about Catia and he told me that the parent company was Dassault and that's why it's a stylized DS.

Dassault Systemes acquired SolidWorks in 1997. Dassault Systemes is known as the 3D Experience company with software brands such as CATIA, DELMIA and SIMULIA (Abaqus).

Apply under the FIRST section on the SolidWorks site. This is how we get our free licenses every season.

Is this the 2014-2015 academic version? It sounds like it sense the expiration date is in 2015. I will have to put in for the new version if that is the case.

Yes, it's "SolidWorks Student Engineering Kit (2014-2015)"
