Also, what happens if a team (469 for example) rolls around where they would fit into multiple categories. would they have multiple pieces of velcro to allow them to be ranked in both the offensive and goalie pole categories or just a dot? What about a team like 973 who clearly has an offensive robot but plays great defense for most of the match? |

We've never yet divided our pick lists into a defined "First Pick" and "Second Pick" columns. The danger in that I've noticed is that if a team slips through the "First Pick" list then you might disregard them even though they can still fill your "Second Pick" criteria. Furthermore, we don't generally divide the entire field into columns for offense, defense, etc., as many robots possess both of these qualities. That's what the labeling system that I explained earlier is used for. Rather, we have one large list arranged from top to bottom and left to right. To explain a bit better, we might consider each row or few rows a "tier," and robots to the further left would be top of the tier. The individual columns I explained earlier would be for robots that displayed one attribute outstandingly, and we were paying special focus on them for that attribute. So to answer your second question, each team only gets one piece of velcro, but a team like 469 might get three different color dots (one for defense, one for offense, one for pole). Of course, these attributes would probably put them very high on the overall list, too :p 973 would probably be in a similar situation. EDIT: I apologize for my first official thread de-rail. |

Do you have a picture of this system?

Cool! I'd be interested in seeing that in action.
Can you start a thread in the Scouting section on this? |
