How was the game without the zone requirement for possession?

In my opinion it played better but it also meant there was heavier defense.

T-Shirt Sales
If anyone is interested in buying a T.R.I. shirt please let me know. They $10 each, it'll be a lot easier if I don't have to ship them because I am terrible at mail, so if you are going to see us at event we can bring them to you.

I forgot to mention! Congrats to the winning alliance, and it was also a blast to be with CRyptonite on the alliance that had the highest penalty free score of the day during quals!

Amazing event for the 1st year. I've been to many different summer events, and this was definitely one of the top. Everything ran smoothly and the volunteers were top-notch.

Also the instant youtube uploads were great ! Thanks for posting those videos.

A couple questions on the the results.
Will you post rankings and elimination bracket results on TBA ?

What happened to QF 4 video?

I'm really not sure but I don't have some of the stuff clipped like we regularly would. Probably operator error.

Everything is in this video if you would like to find and cut the matches.

Thanks Alan for organizing the event. It was a lot of fun!

I was also impressed with the new AndyMark field. I think it was the first time it was used. Mark C said that they will need to run about 300 matches on it before FIRST would decide to use it.
The 4 entry/exits were really neat. No plexiglass to slide over the metal ramps when they are raised, which removed the risk of them falling off and interfering with the robots like I heard happened a few times this year.
The glass on the perimeter was riveted with no need of zip ties. All of the aluminum tubes had quick connects for easy assembly and removal.

I'm so glad this issue has been finally addressed!

Its first use was at the IndianaFIRST State Championship six weeks earlier.

The representative from FIRST HQ supervised some "abuse testing" of the gates after the IndianaFIRST event. Mark Koors identified a slight change that would make them more robust. I wonder if that change was on the field as you used it.

The thing that really impresses me about that field design is how few road cases are needed to hold and transport it.

Was the carpet different? We kept seeing that runners in the carpet would jam up our drivetrain, I was curious to see if we (all of the teams) were just rough on the carpet at this event, or if it was a different carpet that was just getting torn up a lot easier. I know it was a rough game, but we didn't have these issues with the carpet at Alamo or at Dallas.

The carpet they were using had been used before after seeing it during setup. Additionally, I don't think they had people going in the field and cutting off the pulled up pieces. (As the day went on, it got worse and worse and no one was removing the torn up carpet). I remember at other events there were people that specifically went in and were removing the pieces after the match which must have been why you didn't notice it at Alamo or Dallas.

Here is a news segment from myFOXHouston that was live the morning of the event.

It includes some of the promo video that the Discobots put together here.

Match results are up on TBA. I wrote down all the elimination results and managed to lose them while cleaning up the event. If I find them or if someone else has them I'll get those up on TBA as well.

That is definitely a first time off-season mistake. We'll be recording results live to a spreadsheet in future years. Probably a google drive spreadsheet so people can get live updates. Just one of many, many improvements we have planned for T.R.I 2015: "T.R.I. Again"

I did the new TBA method of uploading videos so now all the videos are linked up. We are still missing Elimination results.
The old google doc upload process for TBA has not been updated for a while.
